The Swedes, for many years, were a very controlled society. When they wanted to move out of a community they had to meet with their parish priest who would confirm they had not outstanding obligations with in the community. The priest would then issue s 'Flyttningsbevis' which they would give to the parish priest in their new community. This is the 'Flyttningsbevis' given tmy great-grandmother, Hilda Sofia Benjaminsdotter Öhlin, for herself and my grandfather Harald. It identifies her husband, Johan Emanuel Olsson Kälander and their marriae date.
